Did Multiplus II fix Multiplus 1 problems?

I'm used to using the Multiplus 12/3000/120. I have no use for the new features of the Multiplus 2. However I will pay the premium if they fixed two big issues of the Multiplus 1.

1. Did they fix the shore power problem? Where it will never draw anywhere near the max current. Meaning if you set it to 15 amps it wont draw over 10 amps. It takes the rest from the battery even if all loads are well under 15 amps, which is insane. Big issue they never really fixed or addressed.

2. Can you change settings without a computer? Or at very least does it have a lithium switch now inside the unit?

There have been some firmware updates that have addressed that.

Also much of the set up can be done from victron connect via a phone, but it's still and will likely remain a cable link

1. I guess you mean this:
https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/16260/multiplus-not-using-full-shore-power-limit.html
I looked through the changelog and can't see any related fixes to this problem. @Jwfrary
Because most (or all?) users in that thread have this problem in combination with an air conditioner my guess is that this problem is related to the (bad) power factor of those devices.
Take a look at this:
https://community.victronenergy.com/questions/86435/multiplus-5k-ignores-input-current-limit-with-powe.html

2. You still need and I think you will always need a PC, at least in the near future.
A simple switch will not work because there are many different types of batteries and they need different settings.
If you don't have a PC or don't want to buy a MK3 interface you could ask your Victron dealer to programing the Multi for your battery before shipping.
With an online GX device in the system you can change setting without a MK3 but you still need to use VE.config.

I didn't have an AC on my last build and shore power was still not used properly. I am putting in an AC on this van so that makes me even more hesitant to remain with Victron. Running AC on shore power is one of the main reasons you would want shore power.

Other inverters do this properly. Which makes me think it has to be more of a bug in the firmware? But they never fixed it so maybe there is something about how their hybrid system functions that causes this issue.
