MPPT 75/10 having problems running a 12v submersible pump

i purchased an MPPT 75/10 to run a max 8 amp 12v pump. i have two 155w panels generating less than 40V. i have two 6 volt batteries on parallel for the 12v needed. Both green and amber lights are steady. When i connect to the pump it will not run. i have fuses installed as required. What am i doing wrong. Your input is appreciated!

I guess the inrush current of the pump is to high and the MPPT thinks there is a short circuit.

You could try to control a relay with the load output and connect the pump directly to the battery through the relay.
