Wire sizing?

What wire sizes and fuses sizes should I use? I have 2 X 115w mono panels in series (24V) going into a Smartsolar 100/20 on one side of my boat. I have the same on the other side. The outputs form the two controllers are commoned in a junction box the goes the 12V, 420Ah battery bank. The cable run from the panels to the controllers is around 8m. The run from the controllers to the batteries is around 1m.

Panels to MPPT controller?

Controller to junction box?

Junction box to batteries?

Hi @Andy Todd,


You already know voltage and wire length. All you need is current flowing from that wire and Victron Toolkit app will help you:

There are complex ways to calculate it, but app this will really make it easy with basic parameters.
