Victron 12/12 30 DC Orion TR smart charger

Are you able to charge a 200 amp hour lithium battery safely with a load of around 17 amps (12 volt 3 way fridge) connected to the battery. Does the charger recognise this is an external load and regulate the charging voltage/current to compensate and not over charge the battery.

cheers

In bulk mode, the charger pushes as much current as it can to reach the battery target Voltage, eg. 14.8V. It wil not make the battery Voltage rise above this limit. The presence of a load is insignificant.
If a load is present on the battery then it will simply take longer to charge the battery. If the charger is producing 30A, only 13A will go to the battery and the 17A goes to the fridge. So, the battery is still charging, just at a slower rather if the fridge is running.
When the battery Voltage reaches 14.8V then the charger switches to Absorb and the battery current will taper off.
If the battery only needs 5A to maintain the 14.8V then the charge current will be 22A with the fridge running or 5A with the fridge not running.

Can you provide a little more advice on when/how the charger will switch into “Float Stage” and what the output voltage will be. Is the switch from Absorb to Float automatic after the set time period if 2 hours
