BMV-712 and a 48v system, with 16 batteries and 2 converts

I have a 48v off grid solar system with 16, 6v, 430ah flooded lead batteries. I have two rows of 8 batteries in series, which are linked together too form 860ah. I have two inverters, a slave and a master. My setup has 2 positive cables and two negative cables. How would I connect the BMV-712 to this type of configuration?

Hi D.

Your 'two negative cables' should meet somewhere, either a common batt terminal or a -ve busboard. The BMV shunt should be the only thing connected to the -ve batt terminal directly. All current must flow through it (either way) for it to be measured.

If you have the -ve terminals attached separately to the end of each batt string, then please reconsider doing that.
