Mixing different panels

Hello everyone.I currently have 4 pairs of 2 x 410w panels connected in series to a 100/20 SCC each.The Voc of the 2 panels is 74 v and imp is 13,04. I'd like to put more panels on my roof,and I thought buying 8 550w panels.Can I connect a 550w panel with a 410w so my voltage rises?The 550w panel has 50 VOC and 13,11 imp and the 410w has 37 VOC and 13.04 imp.

If you parallel panels with different voltages, the lower voltage panels will shut down. If there are no protection diodes, this could also damage the lower voltage panels.

For series connected panels, the lower current panel will dictate the current for the entire string.

If you are suggesting one 410 panel in series with one 550 watt panel, then yes that could work since the Imp is close. I'm assuming you have a 48 volt battery bank. Otherwise, you are limiting your output based on the 20 amp current and the battery voltage (960 watts for a 48 volt battery bank, 480 watts for a 24 volt battery bank).

Yes,the battery is 48v and the system works very well.I need more power and I thought buying bigger panels and use the same 100/20 mppt's.

Thank you for the link,I managed to find an 540w panel with the same Imp value.Using the calculator I have 0 losses.This way I can increase my panels voltage within range and producing more power.
