Will MultiPlus-II models 8000 - 15000 get NRS097 certification?
Will MultiPlus-II models 8000 - 15000 get NRS097 certification?
@mvader (Victron Energy) Any official feedback on this?
The largest Victron inverter that may currently be connected to the grid in South Africa is the 5kW Multiplus-II, which means for larger installs the installer has to deal with the complexity of parallel inverters (or alternatively install a competitor's product).
There is always option of installing certified anty-islanding unit in front of uncerified big MP-II.
The only anti-islanding unit that is NRS 097-2-1 certified is the Ziehl UFR1001E, and the comments for the Ziehl on the certification list state the following:
You can only use the Ziehl with an inverter that is also NRS 097-2-1 certified. It's a catch-22 situation.
Interesting.
Why would you pay for anty-islanding unit if you can use it only with inverter that does not need the anty-islanding unit?
There are some micro-inverters on the list that have been approved for use together with an approved anti-islanding relay, but you are not allowed to use them without the relay.
Those combinations were all tested and approved together. Unfortunately you cannot use an approved anti-islanding relay with an inverter with which it has not been tested and approved.
Dear @mvader (Victron Energy) & @Guy Stewart (Victron Community Manager)
Would it be possible to give South African users, installers, and distributors an update on NRS certification regarding the 8-15kVa MP2? Is it still going to happen, and when can it be expected? Victron is a great product, and people want it, but it's going to lose big on sales from October this year. End-users in Cape Town now use larger inverters, 8kVa and above. We are not allowed to install or register any Multi or Quatro without NRS certification and currently have to exchange the ones we sold earlier without the NRS. Your feedback would be much appreciated.
Thank you

Thank you Victron for the NRS certification on the 8 and 10kVa MP2. We hope to see the 15kVa soon.
Hi, I see that the full range of the MultiPlus-II (for some time now) and as of 26 October the Quattro's has NRS Certification.
