DC Cabling size for Victron Multiplus-II 48/5000 in Parallel

Hi all,

2 Multiplus 48/5000 in parallel.

I have read in the manual the DC/battery cabling size recommended for Multiplus-II 48/5000 is 70mm2 for Positive terminal and 70mm2 for Negative terminal. Unfortunately I need to get the system operational ASAP and only have access to 35mm2 multi-strand cable. Would it be possible to use 2 x 35mm2 for each POS/NEG run to the Victron Power-In Busbar where the batteries are connected.

Cable distance is approx 1.5m

Thanks!

60°C rated 35mm^2 should handle >95A.

5000/48/.85 = 122A

Two 35mm^2 cables should handle it, but both would need to be fused for 120A or so.

For each inverter:

(+) cables need to be the same length.

(-) cables need to be the same length.

If they are in single phase parallel, both DC and AC wiring method is critical. If they are in split phase, then there is more flexibility.
