Charging parallel batteries (2) with a DC to DC charger?

Hi

I am using a Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-18A Isolated DC-DC charger with a single battery. Wanting to double that battery up, with an identical battery. Is this charger fine to use? I realise it may charge slowly, not an issue - just wondering if it is capable of it or if this raises any issues re the software in the charger?

Thanks all!

Ok so long as the batteries have the same chemistry/charge requirements. I've been running like this for a couple of years.

Make sure both batteries are fully charged/at the same voltage before connection.

If there's a big age gap between the batteries, be aware that it's better if both have similar ages.
