MTTP 250/70 Charge profile for Aokly GEL 200ah x 8

Hello,

I recently installed :

  • Quattro II 5000/48
  • 8x430w solar panels VMP 40.7 VOC 49.4V ISC 11.15A
  • 8 Aokly 200ah Gel batteries (48v system)
  • MTTP 250/70

My question is regarding to which parameters to setup for the battery specs on the MPPT charge controller.
At the moment is using GEL Victron deep discharge(1)

  • Absorption voltage: 57.20
  • Float voltage: 57.20
  • Equalization voltage: 64.40

Battery specs:

any suggestions for a change in the profile or should I keep using the same?

I've noticed as well the MPPT 250/70 gets fairly hot when in Bulk mode, The wires from the MPPT to the Lynx shunt are 6mm very tight not loose anywhere, not sure if it's normal to get hot as in if you keep the hand on top it will burn after 1 or so.

Thanks!

Absorption is fine.

Set float to four times the value in the data sheet. I.e. somewhere between 54 and 55.2V.

Equalisation not needed as not specified on the datasheet. Best set this off and just in case you turn it on accidentally, set the value no higher than absorption.

On MPPT temperature, probably OK, you have a high current when charging. Make sure there's good ventilation.
