Hi there, we have a MultiPlus EasySolar inverter charger 24/3000 Mppt 150/70, wondering what size of generator is recommended. I was using our old 1kva Honda, which has now died & I think wasn't big enough as was definitely labouring. Would 2kva be big enough? Or something larger? Thanks in advance
Hi ... A 2kva genset will not be big enough. You need to go bigger as u need to charge batteries and supply the loads most of the time. So you must put that into consideration. How many panels do you have on your system, how big is your battery bank and what type of batteries do u have.

This kinda depends on how things are set up
A small genset purely hooked up to charge batteries? OK with no ac loads and dc charge level within genset limit.
A small genset hooked up to provide dc charge, and support small ac loads? A bit more complicated, but with ac input limit, and dc charge limit, this is achievable with a small inverter generator.
