VRM token reset without access to original admin

I ave a Cerbo from an old installation, I bought it online. I have tried to delete the VRM token, but cannot via the VRM portal, a message pops up: An access request for this site is already pending. Please wait for approval or contact the site admin for updates

I cannot contact the previoius admin.

When I try doing it through the GX device, Touch 50, the reset token is not there. I have done a factory reset via USB, I have updated Venus via USB, but still not available, any help appreciated, Angela

The easiest is to try find the original owner and have them resolve it.
Only Victron can reset it, but it does require a process of proof of ownership in order to do that.
There are a few topics on this subject, so try trace it back to the original supplier via support and see if they can contact Victron on your behalf.

Tried it, it was bought from a company no longer in operation. No way of contacting them. Bit confused as to why Victron cannot reset it without proof. Not the kind of thing that woould be stolen?

You would be surprised, but also, someone can ask to have a portal reset for access to someone else’s system, so it is more to validate that you have the device and are the owner. Due diligence is required by various laws for data protection and so forth.

Thanks Nick, I didn’t think of that scenario. GDPR is everywhere now :wink:

On a better note, I have managed to locate the original owner, he has no problem doing whatever is necessary, but doesn’t want to do any work! He has asked me to send him, via ebay, instructions for deleting the token on VRM, which he says he still has access to. Any idea where I would find that.

Tell him to logon to vrm and just delete the site.
Alternatively, add your vrm email address as an admin with full control.
You can then take control and remove the old owner.
