VRM — new Ekrano GX created its own installation; please merge into existing site to keep history

Hi,

I replaced the Cerbo GX in my off-grid “Harvey Island” installation with a new Ekrano GX. Before I could run “Replace GX device,” the Ekrano connected to VRM and auto-created its own separate installation. I now have two installations, both named “Harvey Island”:

  • Existing site with all my history — VRM Portal ID [removed ID] (the original Cerbo GX). I want to KEEP this one and its history.
  • New auto-created site — VRM Portal ID [removed ID] (the new Ekrano GX, serial HQ2532TXNZ4). Created by mistake.

What I’ve tried:

  • Add installation → Replace GX device → entered [removed ID] : it just opens the auto-created installation instead of offering to merge. On a later attempt it errors “The installation with the specified VRM Portal ID or IMEI could not be found” — though the Ekrano is definitely online and logging to VRM.
  • Trying to delete the auto-created installation gives “You don’t have access to this installation.” looks like the new install was deleted but now i no longer have rights to add it to the old one.

Could a moderator / VRM admin please merge (move) the auto-created installation [removed ID] into my existing installation [removed ID] , so the historical data is preserved and the Ekrano reports into the existing site going forward? I am the administrator of the history site [removed ID] .

Thank you!

I removed the IDs and the email.

In the settings of the original installation should be an option to replace the GX device.

Also try to restart the GX devices.

I did that before i posted. Thus the issue. Thanks for removing the ids.

i figured out what i was doing wrong. The delete did work but required a reboot of the Ekrano. Then i could follow the normal procedure. It is working now.
