Any suggestions why a newly fitted 300ah fogstar battery with a victron controller would now stay in float mode. (previously it would go into bulk when battery dropped to about 96%) It was previously working ok. Have tried decharging the battery to 20% then charging back to 100%.
If you can connect using Bluetooth with VictronConnect app grab a screenshot of the settings including expert settings and the one giving the voltages and currents when it is charging. What controller is it.
All your settings look OK. It should try and start bulk / absorption every day at dawn or if the voltage drops below 13.4V ( float - rebulk offset). There is enough solar voltage to start charging ( battery + 5V). Nothing simple and obviously wrong.
My current thought is there may be a problem in the cables between the controller and the battery. Post a screenshot of the history page
I decharged the battery yesterday down to 19% turned the controller off and charged back up to 100% on EHU then switched controller back on today hoping for it to reset.
OK, you are getting bulk, absorption and float, the white refers to the energy in bulk, light blue to absorption and dark blue to float so it appears to be working OK. Another indicator is the max voltage each day is 14.2V, which means bulk is completed and absorption is achieved.
What is worrying is that you have minimum recorded voltages of less than 13V (ignored yesterday due to draw down) but these could just be periods of high demand, but it could indicate a poor connection somewhere. If you have a multimeter when the system is charging check the voltage at the MPPT terminals, battery terminals and on any loads.
However, it all appears OK.
thanks for that much appreciated.
