Thank you for adding me. I had 2 lithium batteries and a BMV-712 SMART Monitor installed in January, 2024 and everything worked great till I got a new phone, and now I can’t open the monitor remotely. The installer told me the password was 0000 which worked fine, but never returned the box or any info on the device, and now I’m told that I have to remove it to access some info on the back of the monitor to set a new password. That will be extremely difficult to do so I’m asking if there are any other options. There are many different setting buttons on the monitor; is there one that will give me the number I need to do a set a password?
TIA for your help!
I thought it was 000000
And welcome
Thanks! I’m happy there’s a forum about for this product.
It was 0000 when the monitor was installed last year, but it looks like it’s been changed to 000000 which I’ve tried over and over, with no success. A support person at Pike Industries that provides help for Victron insisted I needed the PUK code on the back of the monitor.
You may need to unpair the bluetooth connection.
Also to force stop the victron app.
Location may also need to be activated
This is correct, you need the PUK code printed on a sticker in the device, also on a label on the box and often a loose label inside the box for sticking somewhere convenient.
The only other was may be to get the serial number and use this to ask your dealer to recover the PUK, the serial number is on the same label if it is not visible on the phone app.
Thank you. I tried that but it didn’t work.
The installer didn’t save any of that info for me and now it’s been too long.
I did get the serial number from the old phone that still works, but the old way to log in (0000) didn’t transfer to the new phone and it’s been updated to 000000 which doesn’t work on the new phone. I guess I’ll have to remove other display units from that wall in order to remove that monitor for the PUK number. I’m very disappointed with the lack of easier access to that number.
I assume it is for safety reasons the device blocks the access from a mac address (=phone) if it is tried too many times wrongly
In my memory it has been 00000 for years, please do not blame Victron for that.
For most devices it is 0000, 000000, 1234 as default, after 3 times I google the password not to get in your situation
