New install with long distance cables

I’m doing a replacement install on a 40ft motorhome with Multiplus II, Digital Multi, Solar Controller, Lynx, Cerbo, etc. The GX50 and Multicontrol will be about 30 feet from the core components which are in a basement compartment.

My question is this:
Is it better to run a 30ft HDMI extension cable and mount the Cerbo Control GX in the compartment close to the “core” components, or is it better to mount the Cerbo near the GX50 and run 30ft VE.Direct, VE. Bus and VE.CAN cables from the core components to the Cerbo GX?

Thanks for the help.

Probably best to extend the HDMI (and USB if needed).

See below

Yes, you can extend the cable length of the display just by adding individual HDMI and USB cables. I added 15’ to each and it works fine.

It would be better to have the display remote.

And probably even easier to use the new app.

Pretty sure that digital multi panel interferes with the Cerbo.

I plan to use a dedicated tablet in place of the GX50/GX70, no HDMI cable to run. I’m just wrapping up our motorhome install.

I just did this recently. I found an Android POS with a 12V supply and Ethernet, vesa mount. I am using it to access a Node-RED custom dashboard. It works pretty well. I have also set the camera up as a sensor, so when you walk past, it turns on. All I had to do was run an Ethernet cable to the cerbo and plug it in and configure the network.
