Multiplus 24/3000/70 not showing incoming shore power correctly. Power assist not working

I am UK based on a canal boat. I have a Multiplus 24/3000/70, a BMV700, an MPPT 100/30 all connected to a Venus GX. The “Power Control” feature of the Multiplus seems to not be doing its job. The AC in and AC out is showing 0 watts most of the time even if I run a 2kw kettle. If the batteries are on charge the shore power shows a negative number round about -25 watts even though the 24v batteries are charging at about 60 amps. If I set the input current limit to 3 amps it still draws what it needs from the shore power, way over the 3 amps (and the power assist doesn’t kick in). In this screen shot the batteries are charging at 60 amps, the shore power is limited to 3 amps. Any ideas? See the screenshot.

Probable cause and solution here – all you need is a 3.5mm jack plug…

Thanks Ian.
However that thread refers to a Multiplus II . Mine is an older Multiplus which doesn’t seem to have a current sense connection. I’m on the boat tomorrow and will have a look to see what I can see.

It has been suggested that the 3.5mm jack plug where a “current sense” device is plugged in might be at fault. However this unit is a Multiplus not a Multiplus II and doesn’t have a jack plug. I can’t find any reference to “current sense” in the manual. Does anyone know if there is somewhere else I could look?

For information this problem has now been fixed. The cause was a bad connection of one of the ribbon cables from the main processor board to the current sensing device behind. I removed the cables from the sockets at each end of the cable and re-inserted them. All was then working ok.
