My multiplys II 48/5000/70 48 is coming with a firmware update from v552 to v556. It seems a bit complicated and really don’t have the confidence
The company that installed the system back in January 2926 went bankrupt three months after the installation but the trade side of the business continue trading.
I approached them about updates the firmware and they want to charge for it. What is your take on this? It seems a bit petty
If you dont need to update, because the system has an issue or the newer firmware has a feature you want use, then theres no need to update.
If it works fine, dont touch it
I dont think the company is petty. The system was installed and i guess commisioning is done, the project is over. If theres no issue with it, if its not a warranty case, then updating a firmware would also for me be a service request, that has to be paid
To add. Inverters aren’t consumer devices. You can check the release notes on the professional site, but unless you have something that is broken and fixed in a release, or you require new functionality, leave the update alone.
My personal system is till on 508 as there is nothing I need in later versions.
That, and I am too lazy to go through the disruption of the update
