During update MultiplusII loss of battery power

Hi,

I hope that somebody can help me with a update ploblem. Last weeks I had I lot of problems with low battery alarms. System was working for 6 months without problems. I have Multiplus 48/10000/140-100, Cerbo GX and Lifepo4 304A battery with Pace 16S, 200A BMS. There was a new firmare available so I started to update this new firmware. During this update a lost the battery power. At this time the update was at 62% (migrating settings done). I immediatly connected an external power supply, after which the Cerbo and Multiplus restarted. However the update stayed at 62% and now all the leds are blinking for nearly one hour. The Multiplus is no longer displayed in the VRM portal (device list).
Help is greatly appreciated!!

I think you now need a MK3 interface to do a manual update of the MultiPlus with VEflash (VictronConnect could also work).

Thanks for your quick reply. I have the MK3 were I can find the firmware file?

It’s all explained in the link above.

Hi Matthias,
I followed that link, but finding the wright file is very difficult for me. There are a lot of files in the section 230 V, large microprocessors, 500 firmwares. For my MP 48/10000/140 which one I need? There are a lot of 500 firmwares.
Thanks for your help!!!

Only 41 for Quattro is mentioned, the numbers for mp2 not…

In the VE.Bus section, scroll down and take a look at the text file that lists all firmware prefix and which device they belong to.

Yours should be 2627, v556 is the newest firmware, so 2627556.vff should be correct

  1. To select the right file, check the firmware version which is in the product now. Look for a seven digit number (eg. 2654153) which you’ll find printed on a sticker on the control board. The first four digits indicate the model, and must match the first four digits of the file you intend to upload.
  2. There are different firmware types available. Read our PDF VE.Bus firmware versions explained carefully to select the best firmware for your system. For recent products, use the latest 400 version.

41 is just an example in that PDF.
You have to check what your device is.
With VRM the easiest way is to look in at the device list in VRM.

In Victron Professional in the VE.Bus FW folder is a text file that explains all product IDs.
That’s also described in that PDF.

Thanks, that ID was for me the missing information, I have been looking at those firmware files before and was unsure what to use and in the end used the VRM to update instead. I was not having an issue like the topic starter back when I was looking into that.

Edit: ugh rereading that PDF shows that I should have opened my eyes more  Mea culpa!

Models

To get a list of all models, login to https://professional.victronenergy.com, and browse to Firmware → VE.Bus → VE.Bus Firmware Numbers.txt

Thanks! Did not realize that there was such a file!

Thanks everybody,
I didn’t find sticker on the control panel nor on the entire Multiplus. Only PN and SN number.
I followed the suggestion from chrigu (thanks) to flash the 2627556.vff.
Et voila, the system is in the air again.
Encore thanks to Matthias and chigru for all the good suggestions.
