MultiPlus not seen by Cerbo GX after firmware upgrade

My configuration has MultiPlus 12V / 3000 W / 120 Amp running original firmware 2609154 connected to Cerbo GX, upgraded to the latest firmware 3.50. After an upgrade of MultiPlus firmware (by a Victron-certified technician) to ver 209 (or later, we tried several), CerboGX doesn’t “see” the Multi on any schematics, nor in the VRM. The status (On/Off) of Multi - as controlled by the MultiControl - is correctly reflected on the CerboGX Multi display ( as a change in the Mode parameter). But that’s it. We all but eliminated the bad VE.bus cable connection (tried several other combinations), and experimented with several firmware versions (all behave the same). We tried to rediscover VE.bus devices, etc. No Multi errors are seen on the Cerbo. The inverter function of the Multi operates correctly. Any suggestions os to what can be the reason for this beahvior, and how to fix it?

Hi Pawel.
Your 2609 Multi should be upgradeable to the very latest 5xx firmware. Not sure what your issue is with getting to that, but have it ‘standalone’ when trying - disconnected from the Cerbo and MultiControl.
Then you’d have a chance with all the new fw features of your other kit.
Sure there may well be issues with something else in your system, but firmware would be my first priority. Level the Field, then work from there.

If you can update it with an mk3 it should be readable by a GX. Maybe the gx has a problem? It its mk3 driver up to date?
v552 is the latest for 2609.
But yes, go to stand alone. Then add the gx, then the rest as suggested.

Thanks for above inputs! We tried the 5xx firmware as the first option. Is there any diagnostic software that my installer can run on the Multi to validate that the firmware, after upgrade, performs correctly?

Not exactly, but there’s checks that should be done before Victron accept an RMA. Yours is out of warranty of course, but have a look through this. Might give you some clues on what to look for… 4. Pre-RMA test form - Inverter/charger

Thank you to all those who commented. At the end, it turned out that the root cause of my problem was a mismatch between the firmware on the MultiPlus (after upgrade) and what CErbo GX thought the firmware version is. We fixed it by re-upgrading the Multi to the latest firmware (552), deleting the (old) Multi from the VRM and rebooting the Cerbo GX twice, followed by rediscovery of the VE.bus devices - which after quite a long time (circa 20 minutes) resulted in updating the Multi parameters on the Cerbo and both of them working fine again.

Well, we now have another issue: what’s likely a “spurious” Low Battery Warning. I will post a separate thread about this.
