Hello,
I hope you will be able to help me.
I have a Victron installation on my boat which is moored on the Canal Du Midi in the French south. It is also my home.
I am completely autonomous for power.
My system is a Multiplus 12/3000-120, 4 Smart Solar MPPT 100-50, BP 220, BP 100, Venus GX, Lynx Power In 1000, about 3Kw in PV panels and a 20Kw diesel generator.
Batteries are 8 400 Ah LiFePo4 connected in 2P4S to give a nominal 12v and 800 Ah.
BMS is a 123SmartBms.
Control of battery charge and discharge is via the 123SmartBms outboard relays feeding the 2-wire assistant to control the Multiplus and also the BP220 (allow to charge) and the BP100 (allow to discharge. These lines are opto-isolated.
The system has worked reasonably well since 2018 but has always suffered from the disadvantage that as soon as the batteries are fully charged (usually by midday) charging stops and domestic 230Vac is supplied from the battery bank. So when I boil an electric kettle in the afternoon the power is taken from the batteries even though there is an excess of power from the sun that is not being made available. Thus by the evening my batteries are somewhat discharged and no more solar power is available for recharging.
So I was delighted to recently discover that there is now a software integration (venus-data.tar.gz) for the Venus GX to accept the UART data output of the 123SmartBms out board which allows the batteries to remain fully charged and lets the solar power through to the Multiplus to be inverted to 230Vac.
I followed the installation instructions from 123electric.eu and it appeared that I should implement ESS although I was aware that normally this is solely for grid connected installation.
I installed the ESS assistant and, of course, to activate it I had to put in the grid code for France ( VDE V 0126-1-1 VFR 2019).
Now I realise I misread the instructions and should not have done this.
As you know a password is now required to revert my system as to what it was before.
I really appreciate the need for a robust safety practice here.
However my boat has never been connected to the grid and there is not even a grid available at my mooring.
I live modestly on a pension and the cost of employing a Victron trained installer to come out and put a password into my Multiplus would be a very expensive answer to a simple error on my part.
Please can you give me the password so I can undo my Multiplus’s attachment to the French grid?
To make matters worse the Multiplus now does not accept the input from the generator which I need for the days without sun.
I do not require ESS and need my system back the way it was.
