Hi everyone,
I’ve been having problems getting my Grid Setpoints above 5500 W since the last update of the Cerbo GX to version 3.80. This wasn’t a problem with my previous version.
Scenario: I run a 22 kW wallbox. At night, between 00:00 and 05:00, I have an extremely cheap tariff for charging my car, and I even get a higher feed-in tariff. The problem is that when it switches to this mode, the three setpoints for L1, L2 and L3 change to 5500 watts. The remaining power is drawn from the battery (around 6000–7000 watts, including the house), which is completely unnecessary.
Have any parameters changed that I can adjust to fix this? If I raise the SOC so that it can’t draw from the battery any more, it works fine above that limit. See image 5 — any ideas?
Thanks very much!
Your post is a bit confusing. Some more information is needed to clarify what you mean beyond the apparent limit. What modifications are you using? What mode?
Be more specific about your system.
This doesn’t really have anything to do with setpoints; your system is doing what it’s supposed to: covering as much consumption as possible from the battery.
If you don’t want that for the EV, you should connect the EVCS to the ACIN side of the system. Then you can specify in the system settings that it should only use the battery for loads on ACOUT.
(Alternatively, you can use something like Node-RED to set the desired grid setpoint at ACOUT to 22 kW while charging.)
If you look closely at the pictures, I set the setpoint to 22,790 watts, but it’s divided across 3 × 5,500 watts. My entire system is behind the 3 × MultiPlus units. I control it using IPSymcon, as you can’t just install a 22 kW wallbox in a house.
Many thanks
Ah, I hadn’t noticed you were doing something via Modbus.
I’d check whether you’ve perhaps set the AC current limit too low or configured peak shaving. In that case, the system will ignore the requested setpoint and stick to the limits.
Peak shaving is more likely, as it can be configured not to take place below the minimum SoC—which would fit with the system no longer doing it when you give it a higher MinSoc.
I believe I can only control the global ESS Grid Setpoint via Modbus (register 2700). I am not aware of any Modbus registers that allow me to directly set the individual phase setpoints.
If there are registers available for controlling the ESS power setpoint per phase, I would appreciate it if you could point me to them.
Regarding the grid code, I have already checked the limits. There is no active power limitation configured there. The AC input current limit is set to 32 A, and when the battery reaches the minimum SoC, the system is able to draw the full load of more than 22 kW directly from the grid without any issues.
Yes, that’s right, that was done too. Unfortunately, you always have to configure and install the ESS Assistant again on all the MultiPlus IIs. Luckily, I have some good documentation and was able to restore it quickly.
