3x Victron Multiplus 3000 - MAX ESS Setpoint

I was just frantically looking to see where you might have found that
No, hate to disappoint you, but that wasn’t it…
I’m leaning towards it being a bug, or perhaps intentional, in the Cerbo GX firmware

Try sometime to see what happens if you leave Modbus control off while charging the EV, and simply set a setpoint of 22000 in the ESS settings in GX.

That way, you can see whether it generally gets stuck, or only when using Modbus.

Yes, I tried that. Modbus must no longer send the setpoint, so I set it to Manual in the panel instead… This is the result

So 5500 definitely seems like a threshold value to me. If it were a conversion from a current limit value, it wouldn’t be “such a nice round number”…

But with 3 MP 3000, I can’t see anything that fits, either for 5500 or 16500.

I can’t figure it out either; there’s nothing relevant in the search results. Maybe I’m also one of the few with a 22 kW charger, which lets me push the system this hard. Most people with 11 kW can’t get anywhere near these figures.

Thanks so much for your help. I’ve opened a ticket and will report back when I find out anything new.

for clarity, your 3k MP2’s are rated at 2400W inverting at 25C, so 3-phase their ideal DC-based output is 7200W, this will drop if run at full power and ambient increases., a 22kW charger is way too big for this system.
You are relying on the max rating of the internal transfer switch (32A) of meeting this requirement, and expecting 100% performance. This is also not realistic.
No system should be sized like that, it is a the zone where if something can go wrong, it will.

When did you load the 5.62 firmware?

checking the mqtt paths, my single phase system is:
N/dxxxxxxxxxxx/vebus/276/Hub4/L1/AcPowerSetpoint

The other phases are L2, L3.
I set it via ESS settings tab on the GX to 20kW and it ramped to that setting, took a number of seconds.

The German grid code may be overriding this behaviour. Changes were made to the code for local regs in recent inverter updates.
