On the calc is shows that if i do 4 series that i need the 100/35. but if it is just a slight efficacy loss at peak sun I dont really care. I live is WA peak sun doesn't happen often. On the other hand will a 2 x 2 with a 15ft run to the controller really have much loss compared to 4 series.

your question is missing a lot of detail. If you go 2x2 then your using a different controller?
The 2x2 will be more shade resistant than a 4s, which would be the reason to do it on a camper as a preference (all other items equal)

You said 100/35, but I think you mean 150/35, which is much more expensive than a 100/30.
Just go the 100/30 in 2S2P, and with 6mm2 core solar wire (which fits standard MC4 connectors) over that short run, you won't notice any losses in practice.
