Color Controller GX shows DC voltage with batteries disconnected

Why does the color controller GX show DC wattage after I have disconnected my battieres for storage. Is the DC reflective of the inverter using DC even though the batteries are not connected? I notice the batteries do show 0 amp draw, so the battery monitor still appears to show voltage and charge state. Here’s an image of my remote controller.

Hi Steve,

The value shown will always be an approximation, and is affected by the variation in sample rate between elements of the system. If you tell the system you have DC loads, it will allocate any discrepancy from known charge sources / generation and known loads / consumption to the DC load bucket.

If you do not have any DC loads, you should turn off this setting in the CCGX and the small discrepancy due to accuracy and sample rate variation will be discarded.

The setting can be changed here:

Thanks.. I set DC to off. I will have to remember to re-enable when I reset the battery disconnect to renew DC power.. Would there be any harm from leaving DC enabled on the Color Controller while the DC was disconnected, other than the ghost readings?

The only harm in having DC loads enabled when there isn't any is the confusion caused that inspired your question :)

The MultiPlus is still maintaining the float Voltage and powering your DC loads.

Im. It sure what DC loads there are. When I disconnect the batteries, I disconnect from the DC fuse box. I have confirmed my DC lights do not turn on.
