BMV-712 will not stop scrolling even after setup

I installed my BMV-712 and went through the setup via Bluetooth. I would like the display to be completely OFF: no light, no scrolling, no status

Nonethelss the unit keeps scrolling something like "Battery Capacity..." even though I have everything disabled via the BT App. I have set the capacity at 225Ah (2x Trojans), the setting is persistent so I know the BT setup worked.

Any way to fix this? I won't want the unit sucking extra power from my battery.

At the very first power up you have to set the capacity at the BMV itself. So just press "select", enter the capacity and press “setup“ twice to exit the setup. Then the BMV should behave like you configured via BT.
