controller clipping threshold under load

If I have an array that is producing 1kW connected to a Victron charge controller that can handle 600 watts charging a 24 volt LiFePO4 battery and is also a 800 watt load, will the charge controller be clipping because 1kw is going thru it, or do you subtract the 800 watt load from the total meaning that the charge controller only has to handle 200 watts? In other words, can I set a priority in the charge controller to pass current to the load first and then use whatever is left (if any) to charge the battery. And in such a system, does the charge controller clip only when the total charging current is greater than 600 watts, or when the total is greater than 600 watts.

It doesn't matter how much load you have if the charge controller can only handle 600W you get max. 600W.

e.g. MPPT 100/30 -> max. 100V PV and max. 30A charge current. You can only get 30A (depending of the current system voltage the resulting power varies from 660W@22V to 840W@28V).
