remote monitoring for MPPT

I have multiple remote sites that I wish to record hourly data from and save as CSV if possible.

These sites have a modem and a PC (winXP, Ubuntu or Win10).

I have set up the VE connect and can view the data but would like to record and save it to a file automatically, so the data can be collected via FTP automatically.

Put a raspberry Pi in and run venus OS, you would get VRM to do all that for you. It is what it is for.

rPI with venusos is an option

But which MPPT? if its a unit with VE Direct you can also use a globallink to send data to VRM, and use the VRM and/or API to create the CSV.

Running a PC is much more power usage (potentially costs) and risk of soft/hardware failures. Total maintenance costs is much lower with a globallink.
