BMV Battery monitor settings

I have a battery bank of 8 no. 12volt lead acid 105a/h batteries on my boat running a 24volt system. So a total battery capacity of 840a/h. Simple question, is 840 the correct figure to input to the battery capacity setting of the BMV700? Or is it a different figure because the 12volt batteries are wired to produce 24volts?

420Ah is the correct setting.

Thanks for your answer. I will now change the setting from 840 to 420!

Hi David. Ah should always be quoted at a certain V. Which you did.

2x of your batts in a series string would become 105 Ah @ 24V.

4x strings of those would be 420 Ah @ 24V.

Wh of each batt adds though. For you, each batt is 12 x 105 = 1260Wh. 8x becomes 10080 Wh.

Divide that by the V you're using (24V) = 420Ah. QED. :)
