Modbus Timestamp

Hello,

I am just wondering about the time synchronization via Modbus.

When I query the values from each device via Modbus, how do I know when the values were recorded. Are the values (e.g. voltage) updated whenever I start a query?

If not, do I somehow get the timestamp out via Modbus?

And at what rate are the values updated?

Greetings Patrick
