The requirements for installing a new victron system, is that all the victron components are up to date. This does not extend to the battery firmware. Some battery manufacturers like BYD have a utility for updates, as they like this to be done as well when commissioning a system.

Pylontec don't really like end users and installers to up date their firmware.

I asked the tools and firmware files from their service email address and got the response:

Hi,
Could you tell me why you want to upgrade the firmware?
We do not recommend our customers upgrade the firmware by themselves, this is for stability reasons.
