Can I connect two 75/15 MPPT charge controllers in series for a 48V system?

Hi there,

I would like to expand our existing system consisting of

  • 1 MPPT 250/85
  • Cerbo GX
  • 48V Battery bank (Pylontech US3000C)
  • 3 Multiplus II 48/3000-35

with

two MPPT charge controllers of the type

SmartSolar 75/15-24V in series to fit into the 48V system.

Is it possible to connect two MPPTs in series for higher voltage output or do I need a step-up-converter and connect the two MPPT s in parallel?

Thanks for your help!

You can’t connect them in series, nor can they share panels. Why not just buy a 48V mppt?
