QUATTRO 48/5000/70-100/100 vs QUATTRO 48/5000/70-100/100s

I am going to order a QUATTRO 48/5000/70-100/100 .

Two quick questions, if I specify to the supplier I want:

"Quattro 48/5000/70-2x100 400Firmware, specifically the 2658 series"

Is this sufficient ordering detail to be definitive, so that a repeat order will be parallel compatible?

And secondly there is an "s" suffix option for this size Quattro, what extra or omitted function does this "s" denote?

Thank you

The S stands for Silent.

In this model the fan sits on top of the unit, this provides better cooling and is quieter. This is because the air is pulled through rather than being pushed in.

Fans are mounted on the top of the cabinet for a lower air speed. This improves cooling and there is less wear on the components. It also has a smarter fan control that, where possible reduces the fan rpm.

The wall hook remains the same? I.e. can a *-100 be replaced by a *100-S using the same wall mounting?

Hi @PetaJoule

You can find the enclosure dimensions on the product page:

https://www.victronenergy.com/inverters-chargers/quattro#enclosure-dimensions

the S version has a different mounting plate:

Update: I was wrong, as the 5k unit has only the small mounting plate (vs a big plate for 8k and higher)

Thanks for the links, but they contradict "has a different mounting plate".

The sole difference seems to be distance and width of the two bottom fixating screws.

(it's a good thing BTW, as one can re-use the hook carrying the main load.)

But what's more important is, that in case of a "drop-in replacement", the 100-S will not simply take 6cm more headroom.

From the CAD drawings it looks like being on the same hook, it will extend 33mm down and 27mm up, although that information is missing in the drawings. Even that is a good thing, as the installation should have these tolerances.
