Cerbo GX detecting 5 out of 6 Pylontech batteries?

Hi All

I have a problem getting my 6 Pylontech batteries to show up when connected to a Cerbo GX.

The batteries are a mixture as follows:

  • 2 x US2000C
  • 4 x US2000

These are all linked together via the link ports as per Pylontech manual (link port 1 on first battery going to link port 0 on second etc), and I believe this is correct as I have used the same array previously on another inverter.

The batteries are connected to the BMS-Can port of a Cerbo GX using a VE.Can to CAN-bus BMS type A cable, and to the CAN port of the master battery.

After connecting the batteries and booting up the Cerbo for the first time, the Pylontech battery device was recognised straight away - looking promising:

However the Cerbo only shows 5 batteries are connected, not 6:

In addition the installed capacity shows as 250Ah, but I'd expect it to be 300Ah (6 x 50). Charge limits seem to be similarly reduced. It's like the 6th battery is simply not being detected?

When I look at the batteries themselves they are all getting charged/discharged together and are staying balanced.

Things I have tried...

  • Removing each battery individually from the array. This did not make a difference. As soon as any of the batteries are removed, the Cerbo reports that there are now only 4! And removing 2 batteries then shows that only 3 are connected etc.
  • Reordered the batteries so the two US2000C are not together - e.g. US2000C > US2000 > US2000 > US2000C > US2000 > US2000. This failed to start up so I put the two US2000C back in front.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, but if anyone can help or I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks
Sam

Thanks for your answer lifeingalicia.

I've now solved the problem, and embarrassingly it was because I was using the wrong link cables to link the pylontech's together!

For info, I have 3 x stacks of 2 x batteries (vertically mounted), and these are connected with long cables. On the link ports I had incorrectly used the long "inverter > battery" cables, rather than the "battery > battery" cables. (I am surprised it ever worked at all before!)

Sorry for wasting time, and a good lesson to always read what it says on the cable before just plugging in...

6 out of 6 all working

Definately the C have to be in front.

The 2000B is now called 2000 but there was a firmware upgrade to B+.

You may want to try contact Pylon on this one.

I also remember some comments that the can bus cables where different typ A and type B.

If you can ty 2 C´s and one B and see if GX see the B you know its coms.
