VICTRON MULTIPLUS 5kVA(x3), BYD 13.8(x2), MPPT250/100(x3) error codes

Hi People,


We keep getting one controller throwing codes and then clearing within a few seconds.


Error code: #8 - Battery voltage sense disconnected


Error code changed from '#4 - Battery temperature sensor miswired (-)' to 'No error'

Any advice would be appreciated, codes clear almost immediately but our customer is concerned.

Hi Joe,

I had a quick look, for some reason DVCC was disabled. This MUST be enabled for BYD systems so the battery can tell the rest of the components what to do. Probably no harm done this time. I have just re-enabled it and it should take care of those errors. Report back if it doesn't.

Please have the installers read this BYD Victron manual again. It's in Section 5. Venus-device Config


Just to re-inforce how important this is to everyone, if DVCC is disabled, and the battery sets a Charge Current Limit or Discharge Current Limit of 0 and that is ignored by the solar chargers or the inverter, it could lead to an unexpected system shutdown and it is logged inside the BYD battery and if there is a warranty claim, AND BYD thinks that had something to do with it, it could void the warranty.
