I have some welding to do on my steel boat. I know it is important to disconnect the batteries during welding. (no idea why). So, I ask now if it is also important to shut down the isolator - how to power down the Victron Energy Isolation tranformer?
If you have a breaker upstream of the iso transformer, open that breaker. If its directly connected to the shorepower inlet, just make sure the plug isn't in. The iso transformer draws its power (for the indication/test circuits) directly from the AC input.
Whether its important to do this for welding, don't know.
