Redarc vehicle management

I have a client with a Redarc system which allows charging from 1) mains (AC), 2) the main vehicle battery and 3) solar. However, the solar input only allows a max of 32V input and he has a 41Voc panel. We've have installed a Victron MPPT between the panel and the Redarc PV input to bring the voltage down to 28.8V (ie under the max input voltage allowed). However, we don't really get the maximum from the panel at any stage and I feel that the MPPT in the Victron and the MPPT within the Redarc may be interfering with each other!

Is there another way of trying to reduce the input voltage to below 32V without sacrificing too much power - ie I don't want to just "clip" the voltage.

Your client has 2 options.

Buy the correct 36 cell type/voltage panel.

Use the Victron mppt with the current 72 cell panel.

Option 3, butcher your 72 cell panels.
