1200 kWh Pylontech battery

Hi,

Does anyone have experience installing, commissioning and operating a large system with Victron and Pylontech (around 120 kWn of Victron Quattros and 1200 kWh of 48V Pylontech batteries).

Can someone share their experience, challenges faced, etc.?

Thank you

Regards

Pylontech

Wow, 1200kwh of Pylontech batteries mean e.g. 500 batteries of 2.4kwh each in parallel, are you sure?

The maximum you can compose with Pylontech batteries by using the Pylontech LV Hub is 5 racks of 8 batteries = 40 batteries. This setup is working very well

If you choose the US2000 model this means 40*2.4=96 KWh, if you choose the US3000, you can reach 40*3.55=142KWhpylontech-us2000-us3000-lv-hub-for-batteries.jpg

The latest LV Hub model we received recently, had two ports more for connecting battery piles compared to older LV Hub versions having 5 pile inputs only. Maybe PylonTech allows 7 racks of 8 batteries now meaning that up to 56 batteries in total might be possible (unconfirmed). Nevertheless, even this would still be far from your requested 1200kwh unfortunately.

In regard of 120KVA three phase setup - if you take 12 Quattros 48/15000 in three phase configuration (4 Quattros parallel per phase) you can reach 60KVA per phase, 180KVA in total. (48KW per phase / 144KW in total) But note, this is the 30min maximum, not a 24/7 continuous load.

Continuous load is at about 70-80-% of the specified maximum, depending on the cooling of the inverters, so with this setup you could reach 110-120KW continuous total power in an cool air environment

I can confirm, Victron Quattros work perfectly together without any issues with PylonTech US2000 battery banks. Until today, after several years or 24/7 operation, neither any issues with the batteries, nor with the inverters.
