BYD / Generator in cold weather

Hi all, I have a dc coupled (2 x 60a scc / 8 kva quattro / 13.8 byd) hooked up to a 10 kva sdmo geni. System is fine for a while when we test the geni, it holds at about 5.5kw input for a while, then the quattro goes into absorbtion (should be bulk as batteries half full), then drops out ??

There is however no load on the system at present plus it is cold (battery bank temp is 6 deg)

Is this the byd bmu limiting charge current causing the dc bus voltage to rise and fooling the quattro? Any ideas on a potential fix would be most welcome .. We have an engineer on site today but it is too remote to establish robust comms

Hello Ian, at 6 degrees you will see a charge limitation 0.12C but this will be displayed as CCL in the CCGX, is this what you see?

Issue resolved- CCGX needed upgrade to latest firmware, as we didn’t have comms this didn’t happen automatically and had to be done directly

Is DVCC on? Because if so, 5.5kW seems not possible with 1x 13.8kWh BYD at these temperatures (0,12c limit in place as mentioned above). If there is no DVCC active, u need to check your charger settings with VEConfigure.

i guess u know this manual:

Weve been seeing some charge discharge limitation in line with the BYD manual. 6A charge at less the 12 degrees.

Also. the calculated SOC seems to drop as the battery temperatures drop. We have had reports of the SOC dropping when no (significant) load on the system.

To top this lot off.... disconnect of the Quattro on low battery voltage, and it not restarting again once they have been charged above the restart value.
