Multiplus shut down on pylontec, Low battery alarm

Hi all,

We are having a persistent problem on some of our off grid systems.

We are using multiplus and pylontec batteries. All settings have been followed according to

https://www.victronenergy.com/live/battery_compatibility:pylontech_phantom

Alarm log is recording as

VE.Bus System Automatic monitoring Low battery: Alarm

We have been advised that this is not the same as the internal battery alarm which would be recorded as.

Battery Monitor [512] Automatic monitoring Internal error alarm: Alarm

Fault generally occurs at 88% SOC. DC voltage is over 50v

We have tried to adjusting DC input low shutdown to 44 volts. but this has not remedied the problem.

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Cheers Paul

@Pauloreilly77

What multi and how many Pylons, which model?

I have seen this error for a couple of reasons:-

  1. Battery bank is new has not been charged and kept at 100% until all the cells have balanced
  2. Comms between batteries is erratic
  3. Battery bank is undersized.
  4. Ess was programmed but should not have been as it is off grid.

I am leaning more to number 1 maybe 2, as you have an internal alarm there. So something in the pack is not well.

Hi Alxandra

Thanks for your assistance.

I supplied the exsample of a (512) Alarm from the battery but this is not occuring on our systems we are only seeing the Low battery VE Bus Alarm.with no coresponding 512 alarm from the BMS
