X88 error when performing a firmware update

Been working on an error where once Bluetooth is disabled on the Blue Power units (in particular the 12v 10A IP65 for context). The producure to reconnect to Bluetooth stalls at 93% and won’t complete.

Done all as per the instructions Forgetting Device, pressing the Mode button when powering on charger to activate the Firmware update/Bluetooth mode and have tried with multiple devices on multiple chargers with the same result each time.

I’ve tried resetting the PIN to initialise another way in but Reset to factory default is not an option if you disable Bluetooth so can’t do that.

That is because on the ip65 switching off the Bluetooth is a one way trip and fiddly to get back on.

Have you followed the re enable procedure? Is the device showing that BT was enabled again? Or did it show with the double blink leds?

It will not re connect again because there is nothing to connect to.

Turned out to be an easy fix. # 2. in the manual. Hold the Mode Button for 10 seconds.
Somehow what I’d found by searching the forum was turn the power off, hold the mode button and turn the power on. That forces are firmware reset, and the charger was failing to complete that process. Not the same as turning bluetooth on so not the right info.

I am so glad they added the ability to turn it back on. It used to be that if you switched it off, it could not be restored.

that is still the case with some of the models like the IP67 and IP22 I believe. But do check the manuals for each specific model to be sure.
