Blue Smart 15A Firmware brick device

I use a Victron Blue Smart Charger 15A. The Victron app indicated that a firmware update was available. After this firmware update, my charger can’t get connected by Bluetooth anymore . The update failed three times, and after restarting the charger almost all LEDs are flashing except two. A connection via Bluetooth is no longer possible. Charger don’t work. What can I do . Also what is the meaning of the blinking led ?

Best return it for a waranty claim. A FW update should not brick it.

So I can’t use it, so for me it is bricked. So I do the Support request on last Friday. Still now no answer!!!

Where did you buy it from? That should be the first line of support.

I used the Victron support website with all information they need. Also this question don’t solve my problem!

Its can only be solved with a device replacement. Something went wrong in the firmware update and normal user such as yourself cannot recover it.
There is nothing you can do. This forum cannot help at all.

The seller who sold it to you should be able to help faster than the website method as that is the design of support line from Victron.

User-seller-distributor… Replacement (if approved).
If your seller doesn’t help then the website passes it on to the distributor. But of course nothing is instant. So you will have to be patient.

What happens when you try to connect to the charger? At what percentage does it fail?

When the lights are flashing, it is probably in firmware download mode. What you can try is to remove the device in the Bluetooth menu of the phone and then connect again in VictronConnect.

Thanks for the info about the LED’s.

I think the firmware load slow to 6 % and than it rises fast till 43%. And than the error came. But I’m not definitely shure.

Connection by bluetooth after that don’t work.

You say that the bluetooth connection no longer works, but can you perhaps be a little more specific?

Is the charger not visible in VictronConnect or is it visible but the connection does not progress to 100%? Things like that.

When the problem is that it is not visible in VictronConnect, are there perhaps other devices visible in VictronConnect that might be your charger but with a different name?

The charger is the only device I have from Victron. At my I phone Bluetooth device list is the old charger

listed with no connection. At the Victron app there is no device !

No !!! This is not a Hardware problem! I use the charger before several times. And it works nice . After the update it doesn’t work ether! So it’s a Software problem created from your company!!!

Don’t tell me it’s a hardware problem!!

Please calm down.
A failed update can render the hardware useless needing a replacement.
This is rare and no one will know why it happened, we weren’t there and the community is not a support site.
The only solution is to replace it under warranty.
It is unfortunate and inconvenient but that is what needs to happen.
Tens of thousands of devices are updated successfully with regularity and most failures can be recovered, but it is impossible to help over the internet when we are not there to see what has or hasn’t happened.

There is no solution. As stated multiple times, the only way to get a working unit is to replace it for free under warranty.
We can help no further here.

The problem will be in the bluetooth in your phone i have seen abd had it happen many times, follow these steps and you will be ok.

1 / Remove the charger from your phones bluetouth devices

2 / Turn on the charger and leave all the lights flashing for 1 min

3/ Reconect the charger to your phones blue tooth

4 / Open the victron conect app and do the update

The only other thing that sometimes happens is it just dosent like the bluetouth device you are using and if you use another device it will do the update

Not sure if it helps but you can try this:
Disconnect the charger from the grid, wait a minute, press and hold the button while connecting the charger to the grid.
This will force the charger into an “waiting for update” mode.
Also try to use another phone for that.

If that also doesn’t work than you have to replace the unit under warranty.
