I’ve had this charger since August 2019. In the past is been balky when i try to change modes between LA and Li programs. This has carried over to the V C app as well. Last January i updated my phone to a Samsung 24+. The app works well with my two V MPPT controllers and the 702 BMV.
The IP65 will not connect nor will it allow me to reset the units password by holding the mode button for 10 seconds. I’ve read through the suggested trouble shooting steps. It will not respond to any mode button inputs. It does charge but is stuck in the Li program. Ive deleted the Bluetooth pairon this phone, deleted and reinstalled the app and booted the phone several times. I do see a message that it appears the IP65 is connected to another phone however ive only ever used my on personal phones, this current phone being the only one since i wiped the S10 befor upgrading.
Any help is welcomed. I hope its not bircked in Li mode.
It sounds to me like your charger may have a defective mode button. Could you disconnect the charger (from both the mains and the battery), wait for 2 minutes and then hold down the mode button while you plug the charger back into the mains.
If the lights start blinking fast, then you should be able to use VC to update the firmware, please do so.
If the lights do not start blinking, then this confirms that the mode button is defective.
All charger buttons flashed. The new firmware installed. However i cannot connect with it via the latest version of the app. It will not accept 6 zeros nor will it respond to the manual resetting of the Bluetooth pin.
I have managed to manually change charging modes pressing the mode button doesn’t always illicit a responce. Response is very intermittent.
What’s next? I beginning to wish this charger had knobs!
This unfortunately sound does sound like a problem with the button. Given the fact that it entered the bootloader, meaning the button press at that point was registered, it looks like the contact is very intermittent. This would explain why it is hard/impossible to have it register a continuous button press for 10 seconds to reset the pin code.
I agree with your conclusion, unfortunately. I’m wondering if the button might not have some minor corrosion issues. Once i used it to charge two 315Ah Li batteries over a several day period, the mode button became more responsive. To me, this is indicative of minor contact issues within the button mechanics. I’ll keep working with it this way and go from there. Thank you for your help
