Where to Find PUK

BMVQ2117Q9EJP Shows up on Victron APP but I can’t pair. I’m a new owner of a used travel trailer. The APP asks for a pincode. I don’t have it. The suggested original codes - 0000, 1234 & 000000 don’t work. The APP requests the PUK but I can’t find it, anywhere.
Any suggestions?

If the product is a BMV, the PUK code is on the serial number sticker which is on the back of the display head itself. The unit would have also come with a secondary sticker with that information, which is intended for installation into a clearly visible location or a “system components” book that many professional installers will compile for their builds, but assuming that didn’t happen or has been lost by a previous owner in the meantime, the display head will need to be un-mounted so that you can view the sticker on the back.

It’s recommended, at that time, to make sure to take a photo of the sticker and save it in your own system information file that you’ll know doubt want to start compiling as the new owner.

Normally on the side or bottom of the unit, you could maybe contact the previous owner for the pin ?

I was afraid of that. The display head is mounted in a panel that is not easily accessed from the rear. I tried pulling it out, hoping it was a press in fit, but it wouldn’t budge. I’m not sure how it is fastened in or how to access the back of the panel in which it is installed. Sigh…

Try this to contact the original seller/distributor they should be able to get the PUK from Victron with the serial number.

That’s likely a bit location-dependent… here in the US in order for Victron to look up the PUK for a specific SN I have to send the VE sales rep a photo of the serial sticker anyway, to prove ownership… and by the time you have the photo, you also have the PUK.

I appreciate all the suggestions. The unit is mounted in an Airstream trailer. They did an excellent job of concealing the joints in the paneling. I’m not sure how I’ll access the back side… Drat and dirty words!

Have a look at the mounting instructions for it - it may help you work out how Airstream chose to mount the unit. With luck, they might have used the face-accessible screw option (Option B)

Editing to add: also it’s worth going to check around the shunt itself, lots of professional installers will put the spare serial/PUK sticker on or around the shunt since it’d typically be easier to access.

Thanks for the Quick Install pdf. Being that efforts to remove it from the front were to no avail, it appears I have the Option A install. In my case, not good news.
