What is the correct configuration for the ET112 with a Multiplus II in ESS mode?

I’m having trouble to indentify properly the correct way to setup the ESS parameter Grid Metering when using an external ET112 grid meter.
Should I use “Inverter/Charger” or “External meter”, I know that it seems a simple question, but I don’t find any reference on the documentation, and to me it seems that work with any of the two settings.
ET112 is connect on AC IN 1 side, near the external grid entry point.

“External Meter” will use the ET112 as the measurement point for the ESS Grid Setpoint.

“Inverter/Charger” will use the multiplus/quattro AC input as the measurement point.

If you have loads between the ET112 and the multiplus/quattro that you want to power with ESS, choose external meter.
