Hi,
I have an Ekrano GX system with the Wakespeed WS500 with a CAN BMS.
So I use the shunt from the WS500 on the alternator. But I do not get the power data on the Ekrano.
The Ekrano shows the RPM correctly, but only dashes at voltage, current and power. In the Wakespeed app and the PC software I can see the correct current and voltage. So the problem must be somewhere on the communication side. In dbus-spy the data is not shown either.
What could be the problem? I am using the latest Venus OS firmware.
Hi, yes the RV-C and NMEA2000 are enabled, i also can see the data on the nmea2000 bus.
Does the Ekrano get the Data from N2k data or the direct SMA Protocol Data?
Here is another thought. My WS500 has been working fine with lead acid batteries. Today I swapped my boat over the Victron NG lithium and Lynx NG BMS. Updated the WS500 settings and last thing i checked was the engine run, no power shown just dashes. I checked the profile and found ignore local current sensor was set to yes, I do not recall changing that. I will have to wait until tomorrow to reload a new settings file.
Your current sensor is not ignored. I found that the WS500 app set the current sensor to ignore when choosing Victron Lynx BMS and I did not notice, hope it fixes it for me tomorrow.
I have now had the time to download your file and input it into the Wakespeed app. From your file it looks like you have an REC BMS and a WS500 Pro, if only you had said that at the start, there is some problem with the V2.6.0 firmware when the REC BMS is combined with the WS500 Pro, I do not know if this is causing the misreading, as I have neither of these I have only paid peripheral attention to it. You may get more info on the Wakespeed Facebook group linked earlier. The only thing I was unsure of in your configuration is you have chosen Battery ID (Instance) 8, are your sure your battery is instance 8, mine is instance 1, but I would not expect that to stop the alternator power being displayed and as I have different BMS I am not too sure on this.
I can not offer any more suggestions, do let us know if you manage to get a resolution.
Secondly, I have solved my issue where I had the ignore current sensor turned on, now I see the power on the GX device.
