Wakespeed Regulator Data on Cerbo GX

I recently installed a Wakespeed WS500 alternator regulator on a boat and it is integrated into my charging system via a Canbus cable connected to my Lynx NG BMS. The data from the WS500 flows through to my Cerbo GX and is displayed on my touchscreen and VRM portal.

When I power up the WS500 it appears listed in the Cerbo GX under Settings > Device List > Balmar (custom name). All the data is showing up correctly during operation EXCEPT for the field drive percentage. It reads at 0% at all times which is incorrect. If I use the Wakespeed bluetooth app to monitor the regulator I can see the field drive vary with RPM, charge state, etc. But for some reason this one piece of data is not being passed to or displayed by the Cerbo GX.

Anybody have any ideas as to why this might be?

(Apologies for the blurry screen shot - it’s from a video)

Keith,

Mine is reading the same, no field drive. I am running V3.60 beta software on the Cerbo, what version are you running, always worth reporting that when posting issues. When I go back on VRM to my data from March when I was running V3.54 or V3.55 I have data for the field drive. I am not at the boat currently so I can not test back to V3.55. I know that there is work going on with reporting of the WS500 field drive / utilisation.

Please confirm your firmware version and if you are on V3.60 I will change this to a bug report

Very interesting. Well, there’s hope anyway!

I’ve got a Cerbo GX MK2 running firmware v3.52. Maybe I should try upgrading to 3.54 since you had luck at that version?

Thank you pwfarnell.

Keith,

I am going to make a bug report for the V3.60 beta as that is obviously the case for me.

Peter.

Thank you Peter!
