VRM release notes 09-09-2026

Hi all,

I would love to share with you the latest changes that were just added to production VRM:

  • The dashboard icons got a fresh look. Grid, AC Loads, Essential Loads, Consumption and Dynamic ESS have new icons, and so does the weather forecast.

  • The dashboard now shows a DC Sources card. If your system has an alternator, a fuel cell, or an Orion XS / SmartShunt configured as a DC source (for example a wind or shaft generator), you will see it flow into the battery, just like the Remote Console already does. Each card comes with its own 24h graph.

  • The DC Power / DC Loads card is back for ESS and grid-parallel systems. It had disappeared from the dashboard for systems shown in the parallel layout, even with “Has DC system” switched on. It now shows up regardless of layout.

  • Dynamic ESS now lets you set different prices or price formulas for Saturday and Sunday. After you indicate that your prices differ between weekdays and weekends, you get a follow-up question whether they also differ between Saturday and Sunday. Say yes and you get separate schedules for both days.

  • In the advanced system settings of Dynamic ESS, you can now have solar production switched off when the buy price drops below a threshold you set. When prices go deeply negative, it is cheaper to take everything from the grid.

  • The fleet monitor has a new “No consumption” widget. It lists the installations that are online but consumed (almost) nothing in the last 7 days, so you can check in with the customer.

  • The multi-site AI assistant can now create widgets for you, like the single-site assistant already could.

  • Installation admins can now unlink an installation group from their installation, even when they are not an admin of that group. Before, you could link a group you did not manage, but not undo it.

Hope you enjoy these added functionalities!

Have a great day,

Barbara

The alternator tile is not handling the case when my engine is turned off. In this case the alternator data comes from a Wakespeed WS500 alternator controller via VE Can. When the engine turns off, the tile disappears from the console view and from the devices list and should be reading 0A. Will the 3A shown be the last good reading before the WS500 powered down. At the time of the screenshot the engine had been off for 1 hour and VDM is reading realtime data..

Hi, we have a fix for this on our testing environment. Would you mind giving me a heads-up whenever you switch off your engine so that we can verify that it really works?

Engine off now for the rest of today.

Thank you. We verified that our fix works, so it’s going to be on beta now and then later today to production.

Issues with switches in iOS and watchOS

Not all of the switches show up in widgets

I currently have 12 switches the widgets can only seem to display max of 8 which it randomly selects doesn’t appear to be any control over what is available

I have 8 x energy solutions smart switches, 2 x Shelly 2 x cerbo relay

Hi @Bah434x ,

What is your installation ID? I will check out what could be the matter.

Is that the VRM portal id or site id ?

That would be the site id!

I see all switches in VRM but not in widgets just a random few

I just want to say that you guys do an amazing job! The changes you’re making, the way you communicate, the way you take feedback is second to none. Just sayin! Have a great day!

That is very kind of you, thank you!

It looks great, I like everything but wish and hope that at some point we can turn the Inverter symbol off on DC only systems. We are using Victron equipment for DC only systems and the inverter just causes questions and people do not understand why we cannot remove it on a system where it is not used.

Dear Barbara, I must be missing something. Is this a firmware update? What is this new release number? I did get a new IOS App, but I have not received any new version notification for the Cerbo, nor can I find it in the firmware library. Thanks much

It’s not a firmware, the VRM website has been updated.

Hi Barbara,

an issue with the 24h graphs is the lack of data refresh when a browsers windows is left open for a session lasting a few days.
To explain what I mean with this. I keep browser windows open for days and hibernate my PC.

Then I resume the next day and move to the browser window with data I’m interested in.

In other word closing and open a new browser window is avoided and web apps need to respond to “window activation” events. Currently this works only partially!

Example:
data is actually from 14Sep but “re-labled” as being up-to-date

only after a window refresh via F5, correct data appears for 15Sep

Is this a known issue?

Thanks
Michael

Those refresh events are triggered at some 2-3 minutes interval. Annoying indeed…
If you have enough patience after the window gets the focus - and stay there, you’ll see those “loading…” and the graph will refresh.

Hi Michael,

What should be happening is that it refreshes as soon as you revive the computer.

We stop the refresh for people with multiple tabs open cluttering the database, but when ‘activating’ a tab or window it should refresh, and indeed then refresh every 2-3 minutes.

I will check why it does not work for your site. What browser are you using?

There is a similar problem with DESS charts not refreshing. I see that refreshes are paused in inactive tab, but as soon as I activate it, “now” bar advances forward but charts still show previously forecasted values not the actual ones. What I end up doing is advancing to next day and then back to refresh the charts. So either automatic refresh should be triggered when tab is activated, or at least manual “Refresh” button could be added, but I think auto-refresh on tab activation would be better

From what I’ve observed there are different information obtained from the servers on different “channels”, with different latencies or at different moments.
For example, the SOC info for battery is taken later than the energy info. Or is late, generally. That could translate to a delayed moment of that info is displayed.
Could be the same with the DESS info.
A reposition of the time frame is forcing the whole thing to reset and retrieved again.
