Hi all
I am monitoring 20 customers via VRM and the number will continue to grow.
Is there a possibility on the overview page to flag Installations with out of date firmware?
As numbers grow updating firmware one at a time will become slightly painful, do you see a time when we will be able to select multiple devices of a list and update?
Good morning! some improvements similar to what you’re asking are being worked on.
But alerting that systems are out of date is not in the list.
Main reason is that we don’t encourage all the tine updating everything.
When it all works well, good advice and experience is to just leave it working well.
And only up date when there is an issue, or now and then,
Just to add a bit here.
There are usually 3 circumstances that require a firmware update.
11.1. When to do a firmware update
It is not required to keep your Victron equipment updated to the latest firmware version. Stable systems should be left with their current firmware. Here is when to perform a firmware update:
During commissioning / first install;
When trouble shooting;
To add a new feature that is required by the installation.
And on the mppts and others only ‘sometimes’ there is mandatory ones.
@mpvader, thanks for the insight, we don’t usually update Inv/Chargers as you suggest.
MPPT, GX, and shunts are the regulars
