New firmware releases

Some new firmware were launched lately. However, I didn’t knew.
Is there a way that I can be kept updated over new firmware releases on my hardware?

In most cases it is not necessary to keep everything up-to-date.
“Never change a running system”

Some major updates are announced at Victron Professional:
https://professional.victronenergy.com/news/

You can look here:
https://professional.victronenergy.com/downloads/firmware/

Or you connect to the dropbox and you get all new FW files to your PC automatically:

So, there is no way to get a warning that a new firmware is released.
The news site doesn’t list all of them. I’ll see if the dropbox can warn me once a new file is added.

Thank you @M_Lange !

I have however one other question.
My MPPT RS 450/200 Tr is at V.1,16 as I can see in the Victron connect app.
There is already a new version which seems to have something important according to the changelog:
“Update GFCI self-test boundaries to prevent false positive rejects.”

and also:
“Stop charging when the external voltage set point is set to 0.”
Which, I’m not sure if it fixes the fact the mppt slightly discharges the battery at the end of the day for a certain time.

VictronConnect says I have the latest version
In the VRM portal I can’t find a place to update it.

Any pointers?

A “warning” would make the impression that an update is needed which isn’t necessary, as I already wrote.

FW files are included in the VictronConnect app and as long as the app isn’t updated it doesn’t have the latest FW files.
Vic will improve that in the future.

If you want to install the update you can do it via the VRM portal:
https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/VRM_Portal_manual/en/remote-firmware-update.html
or you add that file manually to VictronConnect:
https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/VictronConnect_Manual/en/firmware-updates.html#UUID-705fe0d3-30d8-e6e6-aad1-856f4ac6e3b3

Warning wasn’t the correct word. Notice should be more of it.

Either way, Thank you for the pointers, I’ll read them!

With my best regards
